The company has completed a comprehensive reservoir modeling and development planning study for Pricaspian Petroleum Company in the southwestern part of the Pre-Caspian Basin. The field is currently in the final stage of development and is characterized by complex geological conditions, including multiple faults, stratigraphic unconformities, high reservoir heterogeneity, and low aquifer activity.
Our team developed a high-resolution geological and hydrodynamic model using specialized software solutions. An analysis of several development scenarios was conducted, resulting in the identification of a strategy with the potential to increase oil production during the late stage of field development by identifying previously unrecognized productive intervals, selecting wells for hydraulic fracturing, and drilling sidetracks with horizontal completions.
Key Achievements
- Refinement of the field’s geological structure through detailed layer-to-layer correlation, considering the pinch-out of Jurassic and Triassic deposits into the base of the Cretaceous, and preparation of an updated oil and gas reserves report.
- Comprehensive history-matching and dynamic model calibration, including mapping of remaining movable oil reserves and selection of production enhancement techniques (EOR/IOR methods) to increase oil recovery.Evaluation of multiple development scenarios, where the optimal case demonstrated the potential for increased oil production through testing of previously unproduced formations, hydraulic fracturing in low-permeability reservoirs, and drilling of sidetracks with horizontal completions.

This field was in the final stage of development and represented a low-margin project for our company. Thanks to the detailed and systematic approach of the Global Geo Consulting team and our close collaboration, we achieved a 30% increase in oil production through the testing of new formations. We plan to continue implementing the development strategies outlined in this study to further enhance oil recovery.
